"Loose ends was a song I sang in a dream. It's not often I remember my dreams but this was just before I woke up and I was standing on stage, singing to one bloke with a dog in the corner of this weird social club. I remembered the tune and opening lyric so I went straight to the studio to get it on tape. 'They say the devil is in the details, they say that heaven is in the loose ends'. My subconscious came up with that - no idea what it's about but it sounds good.
My only light was one the lyrics Doug had given me which sparked something in me, something happy and you can tell by the chorus, it's got something positive to say. Introspection by contrast was Doug searching within the darker parts to try and work out how someone in later life copes with social situations.
The shining gem on the album though is 'The last time I cried' which was the single from the album and we made a video for it too. It's about the loss of different types of influences on our lives whether they be family, friends or just someone influential we never even met. In this case, Prince Rogers Nelson!"

Verse 1
They say the devil is in the detail
They say that heaven is in the loose ends
And when you've sorted through all the cliches
Then comes the morning and you've lost a friend
Chorus
I don't know why the sky keeps falling down
So everything's gone and I am free now
Verse 2
Like making promises, slurred and empty
Forget the people who claimed to love you
Pick up the threads that lie deep within
Invest it all and go see it through
Bridge
They're the ghosts, the regrets where you learn to forget
And you lie and ignore but your heart wants some more
But you failed and you cried and your hopes went and died
So you feared and your hurt 'til you see what it's worth
What it worth

Verse 1
For a long time now I've looked inside
Don't know how long I'll have to hide
Bridge
That others care about me
And I should feel it too
And these mistakes I've made
Got some putting right to do
Chorus
Running through the darkness (My Only Light)
Leaving those I love behind (My Only Light)
My Chance to put things right (My Only Light)
Verse 2
Over 20 years I've worked I know
Those I love falling, selling my soul
Bridge
Don't learn from my mistakes
You gave me another chance
I won't ever let you go
You carry me into the light

I get lonely easily and the sadness comes too
I get lonely easily missing everyone I knew
Not sure if it's the age I'm at
Not sure if it's a state of mind
Or the way the world is now; yearn for all I left behind
I get lonely easily and angry at those who are cruel
I get lonely easily and quick to act a fool
Not sure if it's the age I'm at
Or the path my life has taken
Do I spend too much time alone?
Or is it nothing and I'm mistaken
I get lonely easily but I'm slow to reach a hand
I get lonely easily I think it's hard to understand
Not sure if it's the age I'm at
Or yearning for those I've lost
Maybe it's psychological
Or I like to count the cost

Verse 1
I was young way back then
When I first had a broken heart
Vowed I'd never fall again
Thought that I'd get torn apart
I believed I was lonely
believed that was the way to be
Me myself and the music only
I though that was what would stay with me
Chorus
The last time I cried I thought the world would end
The last time I cried I thought my life would descend
Verse 2
Angels took someone too soon
Screamed at every God that I could curse
Nights howling at the moon only made the process worse
Thought the world just wasn't fair
In an way I guess that I was right
'Cause the world still needs you there
Like I do on the coldest, coldest nights
Chorus
The last time I cried I thought I'd always be alone
The last time I cried thought I never find my way home
Verse 3
19 months, 3 weeks, 1 day
Since my world turned to a minor key
Something made me stop and pray
Prayer of thanks he was there for me
The world changed forever
And we'll never see the same again
Believed in something to bring us together
And remember what it was like back then
Chorus
The Last time I cried were tears of joy and loss
The last time I cried tears of hope to bear this cross
The last time I cried tears of hope and pain
The last time I cried thought I'd never cry again

Passion without some kind of cause is heading for defeat

Flames take a while to cool when they burn so strong

Every kind of rebel can't ever say goodbye
Chorus
Burn a little harder
Burn a little brighter

Burn a little harder
Burn a little brighter
Gladly take all the blame

Flames easily reignite given half a chance
Sparks can become a fire given circumstance

in the heart of every rebel sparks will turn into a flame

Verse 1
A lonely world, I don't fit in there
When I reach out I touch the fear
Bridge 1
So I need you to help me
I need you to understand
Please just help me
Please just reach out your hand
Chorus
When I'm not sure which way to go
Or I don't even know the best thing to say
Please grant me this wish and see if you can meet me halfway
Verse 2
The night is dark
Shadows everywhere
I find some shelter
Someone who'll be there
Bridge 2
I need someone to help me
Pick me up when I fall
Someone to reach out
Any one at all
Chorus
When I'm lost alone in the storm
Standing alone in the darkest, darker days
Help me to find myself, just come and meet me halfway
Lyrics: Hunter
Music: Nuttall
Verse 1
And as I fall far away from this world
I don't even say goodbye
They stand together but so far apart
With fear inside
Verse 2
It's all for need and security's fall
Their desperate need for love
The opposite of intimacy
When the world is done
Chorus
Stand alone
Oh, if they knew what I already know
Smiles of those so fake and false
Reach out but they never grow
Verse 3
And as I fall I can only just feel
So numb as I don't belong
At last I'm glad to be leaving behind
What they ignore
Verse 4
They only laugh for the comfort of eyes
Attention of empty holes
The failed ambition and confidence of their tiny souls
Chorus
Stand alone
Oh, if they knew what I already know
Smiles of those so fake and false
Reach out but they never grow
Middle
Just because there's darkness
Don't tell me that the light is worthless
Lyrics and Music: Nuttall
Verse 1
I know I can count on you
When I am lost
I know you will come for me
No matter what the cost
Chorus
Carry a torch and bring me light
To bring me home a beacon tonight
Carry a torch to light the way
To better days
Carry a torch to bring me light
To bring me home a beacon tonight
Carry a torch to light the way
To better days
Verse 2
I know you'll always be there
To find a way
When I am just lost for words
You know what to say
Chorus
Carry a torch and bring me light
To bring me home a beacon tonight
Carry a torch to light the way
To better days
Carry a torch to bring me light
To bring me home a beacon tonight
Carry a torch to light the way
To better days

Verse 1
Sorry is so little when there's so much at stake
Sorry is so useless when hearts can break
Bridge 1
Sorry just seems so small when the stakes are so high
Regret's not easier than lies
Chorus
Apologies time be redone
And Wishes that I was a better man than I thought that I'd become
Apologies smiles and a heartbroken glance
And Wishes for one more chance, just one more chance
Verse 2
sorry means so little when there's so much to be lost
Sorry doesn't cut it when you add up the cost
Bridge 2
Sorry is so small in the grand scheme of all these things
Hating all that sorry brings
Chorus
Apologies time be redone
And Wishes that I was a better man than I thought that I'd become
Apologies smiles and a heartbroken glance
And Wishes for one more chance, just one more chance

Verse 1
I wish there was some other way
I'd go back and change it if I could
I wish there was something I could say
I know I really should
Bridge
I know there's no way out of this situation we are now in
But you are someone I could never do without but I'll pay for this sin
Chorus
If I could turn back time, I'd take back the ground I've given
If I could turn back time, change the life I've been living
If I could turn back time, I'd change a thing or two
I'd try not to commit the crime can I convince you that it's true?
Verse 2
I know that there's no other way
I got to try and make it right
I can't go back and relive a day
But I can't give up the fight

Verse 1
Promises, broken promises
That's as much as I'll ever know
Spoken words heard as broken words
Should have tried to go with the flow
Bridge 1
I should just take the time
To think before I got to speak
To deal myself the cards and see
Chorus
Worst Case, I'm on my own for a while
Worst Case, No one here to find
Worst Case, Got my company only
Worst Case, Got to deal with lonely
Verse 2
Debts unpaid like the plans we made
Got to be some smooth with the rough
Dreams will fade, broken dreams will fade
And what I'm paid ain't enough
Bridge 2
Shouldn't have lived for now
Should have thought about tomorrow
Got to make do, I don't know how
Chorus
Worst Case, I'm on my own for a while
Worst Case, No one here to find
Worst Case, Got my company only
Worst Case, Got to deal with lonely
