Buying a keyboard with full-sized keys and true piano synthesis with pressure sensitive keys made a world of difference.  'Falling' was the first song we wrote entirely on Piano with moving left hand parts and everything! Jake (This side of heaven) was the next and it was even better - still one of my favourite ever Fox songs.  The Oboe gives the song it's melacholic lilt. This song was later used in the musical 'Dark Heart' along with 'Old Friend' off the next album and a couple of ballads on 'Songs from a New Minor'.

It's probably obvious I was listening to a lot of Savage Garden when I wrote this album... 

The solo at the end of '3 Letters' is borrowed from a ZX Specrtum game called 'Target Renegade' as the song is all about only getting 3 letters to put your name in a hi-score table.  The 'Curt' in the line 'Curt Sings' is of course, Curt Smith of Tears for Fears.
