Peter Nuttall - Music/Lyrics/Vocals
Urban Fox came in many different guises in the early days. We seemed to have a different guitarist every week; some brilliant, some who didn’t know which end to strum. After playing a lot of Bryan Adams and Erasure covers with no real long term plan, 1994 saw Darren Spark leave and Chris Barber become the lead guitarist. We then set about recording everything we’d been jamming and writing since that initial session in 1992 at Douglas’ house. One of our big songs at the time was ‘Neon City’ and it baffles me to this day why it was never recorded for this album (or any album for that matter).
The original lyrics for 'Urban Fox' were 'World war 3's upon us, what shall we do, they're gonna press the button now to put an end to you'. That was as political as it got. 'Tears' was a tribute to Tears for Fears who influenced me a lot (still do in fact) and 'Remember' was the first ever song I wrote - using the autochord function on my PSS-790 and some words I'd scribbled down in a study lesson at school.
